HOMESCHOOL WORKSHOPS


Designed especially for homeschool students, homeschool at the Memphis Zoo is an exciting alternative classroom to explore biological topics. Students will meet live animals and participate in innovative activities. Your student will get exposure to the animal world that is impossible to provide at home.


10 A.M. to 2 P.M.

Cost per session: $30/members, $40/nonmembers, $5 off if parent assists

Registration Deadline: One week before the date of the program.

Pre-K through 7th grade.

     

Bird Force

Have you ever felt like flying the coop?  Taking wing is only one of the many ways birds protect themselves from danger.  Join us to learn more about birds and their wild defenses.

August 24 – PreK/K and 1st/2nd

August 26 – 3rd/4th and 5th-7th

 

One Small Step for Man, One Giant Leap for Frogs

It’s what’s on the outside that matters to many amphibians. Come discover how frogs, salamanders, and caecilians protect themselves in the wild.

Being “fish of the day” is not an honor in the fish world.  Join us as we learn about the shocking ways fish fight back.

Reptile Squad

Rattles aren’t just for babies, and hoods aren’t just for keeping your head warm!  Come to the Zoo and learn about the unique ways reptiles defend themselves.

Looking for a Few Good Mammals

Hide and seek might seem like a fun game to play, but for some of our fur-covered friends, it is not fun at all. Discover the many different ways that mammals protect themselves.
